I am Bryan Angeles and I am a student at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. I am currently a double major in Journalism and English. I love writing. I love being creative and being able to have new challenges come at me every day.
I am a Staff Photographer and Desk Assistant with The Daily Targum, the University newspaper. The Targum just recently won the 2009 Associated Collegiate Press’ Best of Show award for four-year college dailies.
On staff, I am responsible for helping with both sports and news events whether they'd be on or off campus. My motivation as a photographer comes from trying to stay on top of current events. I look to make up for the fact that I am still learning by grasping the intangible as well as being a team player. I love constructive criticism. It makes it easier to learn from my mistakes.
Currently with my position, I am able to manipulate photos through Photoshop CS3 and prepare them for print. Though I am just an assistant, those above me have been teaching me how to refine my skills as a photojournalist.
In the future, I would like to pursue a career in anything pertaining to Public Relations or Journalism. I live to satisfy the thirst to get the best shot and the best story.
